+++++ What Thomas Kinkade said about this work +++++
"To many it is not the big name stores and fancy hotels along this street
that are so fascinating, it is the Water Tower. Back during the Chicago fire
the Water Tower alone survived. It inspired the citizens to build their town
bigger and better than ever it is now a monument to the 'can do' spunk of
this 'city with big shoulders'."

The Chicago Water Tower
The Chicago Water Tower is one of the most celebrated landmarks of the
city. Designed by architect William W. Boyington to resemble more of a
medieval strong-hold than a Water Tower was constructed in 1869. The Water
Tower is still considered to be a masterpiece of neo-gothic architecture.
The tower’s limestone and concrete construction protected the building from
the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. One of the few buildings to
survive the fire, the Water Tower has become a symbol of the city of
Chicago’s strength and resilience.
