+++++ What Thomas Kinkade said about this work +++++
"The Tower of David has become a recognized landmark, viewed by many
as the symbol of Jerusalem. I think the view is, quite simply, one of the
most dramatic and inspiring that I know. I was pleased to see that
biblically significant plants - the dignified cypress and the broom plant
with its luxurious yellow flowers - are abundant in this place.
For a vision of the Old City that encompasses a great sweep of time,
taking us to the era of Jesus and hundreds of years before, the vista of
the Tower of David is unsurpassed."

Tower of David
Jerusalem's citadel, known as the "Tower of David" is a historical and
archaeological site of world importance. Over the generations it has become
both a landmark and a symbol of the city. This monument attracts 1 Million
visitors a year and houses a museum which has the history of Jerusalem.
Almost every period of Jerusalem's long and eventful history is
represented, some by architectural elements in the massive structure
itself, others by more modest remains in its large inner courtyard.
This is essentially a medieval fortress, with later additions. Its
towers and ramparts offer splendid views of that part of Jerusalem where
Old and New merge, and East meets West. The site of the citadel has always
been the weak point in the city's defenses, compelling its rulers
throughout history to fortify the site.
If Jerusalem were a harbor, the Tower of David would be its lighthouse!
