+++++ What Thomas Kinkade said about this work +++++
"Travel has now become a way of life for Nanette and me and now for our lovely little daughters,
Merritt and Chandler, as well. Our first trips remain fresh in my memory; the excitement of
discovery in a first encounter with a new land is simply unrivaled.
"Spring in the Alps, fondly recalls such a maiden voyage. In 1985, Nanette and I first
traveled to the Alps, bringing with us the naive expectations that came from such romantic movies as
The Sound of Music. Astonishingly, we were not disappointed in our idealistic hopes; we discovered
numerous Alpine scenes where Maria and the Von Trapp children may well have sung and played.
"A great peak, perhaps the famed Jungfrau, lends its snowclad dignity to Spring in the Alps.
In contrast, delicate Alpine flowers bloom. Trees, standing as silent sentinels, link the timeless
and the ephemeral. The tranquillity is unbroken, or is that the voice of a child I hear singing
softly in the distance?"
