+++++ What Thomas Kinkade said about this work +++++
"Main Street! These are the places where people gather to do their business and share the activities of a more simple era, I hope you'll meet me on Main Street!"

~~Thomas Kinkade

ABOUT THIS PAINTING

Ed Reinecke, a retired lieutenant governor of California, commissioned this piece. Thom put the Lt. Governor’s dog in this work (the shaggy dog in the left-hand corner). The people and the name on the signs are modeled after real people. Check out Merritt’s stand on the right hand side of the painting. The guy in the left-hand corner walking the shaggy dog has a newspaper entitled 'K-PAT' which stands for Thom’s siblings, Pat and Katie. Note the gentleman in the right hand corner carrying a Kinkade painting. This work was originally entitled, Old Sacramento.
