ABOUT THIS PAINTING This work was originally entitled Nevada City, 1922. The trolley’s number is 5282 as a tribute to his and Nanette’s wedding date. A store sign on the left proudly displays "Nanette K" while Thom is hailing the trolley. Thom and Nanette are hiding out from the rain and the viewer’s eye in this work (they are located on the left-hand side of the painting under blue and red awning and the initials "H.E.S.")
