ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This painting depicts the Yosemite Valley as seen from a little known place called
'Artist's Point', named in tribute to the many 19th century artists who favored it as a
sketching ground.
The National Park System selected this work as their official print in 1989 out of 2,700
other entries. This work was also displayed on a $10 commemorative stamp issued by the
United States Post Office and a gold medallion.
