** Thomas Kinkade - A Lifetime of Light **
A beautifully touching look at the life of the well-beloved artist Thomas Kinkade.

William Thomas Kinkade III -- the acclaimed "Painter of Light" -- departed this life on April 6, 2012 and left behind a body of work cherished by millions of people the world over.

Kinkade collectors so completely do not care what the "critics" have to say about Thom's work.

Many modern art critics demand that art must be so disruptive and disturbing that it forces the viewer into some sort of existential crisis or a confrontation with the dark side of life. In this sense, then, modern art is nothing more than a reflection of, and a meditation upon, the abject horror of the world.

Over against this view of art as a confrontation, Thomas Kinkade unapologetically painted beautiful images that everyday people find joy and comfort in.

Thomas Kinkade grew up dirt poor and built an art empire by virtue of his talent, hard work, and genius. As a reflection of his rags to riches life, Thom saw to it that a poor person could buy twelve of his images in a $10 calendar at Wal-Mart while a person who had the means could buy limited edition oil on canvas reproductions or even an original.

Thom was a common man who did well for himself and his family. He donated a lot of his time and money to charity. Thom had his troubles, but in the end he was a good, decent, hardworking Christian man whose work found its way into millions and millions of homes across the world.

God bless you Thom.
